Federal flood insurance policies are issued by licensed insurance agents and underwritten by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). We provide documents required to certify a property's flood risk so you can obtain a federal flood insurance policy, set you insurance rates, or correct FEMA mapping errors.
Private flood insurance policies are underwritten by private companies and not the federal government. Lenders must accept private policies so long as they meet minimum standards. We provide data and reports to help insurers underwrite policies, and for property owners to better understand flood risk.
DirectFloodtm is our flood certification ordering platform for flood zone determinations and FloodRisk reports. For systems integration, contact us or see our API.
Welcome to the City of Hanahan South Carolina’s Elevation Certificate archive. In partnership with FEMA and the Community Rating System, this site is part of a City-wide effort to reduce flood insurance costs for the City.
An Elevation Certificate is most commonly used to help your insurance agent determine your flood insurance policy premium. And if an Elevation Certificate already exists for your property, you may not need to acquire a new one. In addition to flood insurance, the Elevation Certificate may be used for other building and compliance purposes within the community.
The City’s Elevation Certificates are accessible through this website and can be found by using the map, search boxes, or scrolling through the table. View and download Elevation Certificates by clicking the File link in the search table or clicking an icon on the map.
If you have any questions about a particular Elevation Certificate, please contact the City of Hanahan. For questions about this website, please contact MassiveCert.
